Kawasaki's first motorcycle in the 1960 was a 125cc two stroke
Kawasaki motorcycle. Kawasaki started their high end powerful rigs by acquiring
Meguro motorcycles which was oldest motorcycle company in Japan. Kawasaki
rolled out its first big motorcycle which sported a 650 cc engine and was called model W1.
Kawasaki actually faulted with its first release W1 for the simple reason that the competitors had better and faster bikes. So Kawasaki
proceeded to create lighter motorcycles which were A1 Samurai with 250cc engine powering it and the A7 avenger powered by 350cc engine.
Kawasaki started to develop a big name for itself in 1969 with the successful launch of H1 also known as MACH III which was a 500cc masculine motorcycle. Now it is still one of the rare collector's motorcycles. Two smaller versions of H1 were released S1 and S2. H2 was produced in 1971 which was the big brother of H1 but the production was stopped due to stricter emission norms.
Kawasaki motorcycles made a big bang when they released the most powerful bike in its era with the release of Z1 with a 903cc engine in 1973. Z1 was a very successful bike to be named in the Kawasaki motorcycle history. Because of its power Kawasaki
gave the alias "king" to Z1. In 1976, Kawasaki motorcycles
improved the Z1 engine with more power and performance and launched the powerful motorcycle as Z1000. According to
Motorcycle experts, Z1000 was very popular because of its low price compared to its performance ratio.
According to Kawasaki motorcycle history developed a few smaller bikes which follwed the "Z" naming convention and called the ZED's. Kawasaki
developed a more powerful Z1300 which was big failure compared to z1000. Kawasaki
developed a new successful product during the late 1980's called the GPZ900R because of its popularity on race tracks as well as the roads.
